报告摘要: We revisit the population dynamics of ecological and epidemiological models within stream networks, emphasizing the influence of network topology and heterogeneity on critical thresholds for population persistence (e.g., the metapopulation growth rate and the basic reproduction number, respectively). Our recent investigations into metapopulation models across stream networks reveal the following insights under specific conditions:

1.      The concentration of resources in the most downstream patches typically results in an increase in the metapopulation growth rate.

2.      Conversely, concentrating resources in the most upstream patches tends to augment population biomass.

3.      Moreover, a higher drift-diffusion ratio exhibits potential in fostering population persistence.

These insights provide valuable contributions to our understanding of population dynamics within stream networks and offer potential avenues for further research.

报告人简介:帅智圣博士现任职于美国奥兰多的中佛罗里达大学数学系, 担任副教授(tenured)。帅教授分别于2001年和2004年在东北师范大学获得学士和硕士学位(导师: 王克教授), 2010年在加拿大阿尔伯塔大学数学系获得博士学位(导师: 李毅教授Michael Y. Li)。此后, 他获得了加拿大自然科学与工程研究委员会颁发的博士后奖(NSERC Postdoctoral Fellowship), 在加拿大维多利亚大学从事了为期两年的博士后研究(导师: Prof. Pauline van den Driessche)。帅智圣教授主要研究领域包括微分方程和动力系统、以及它们在生物数学中的应用。在Journal of Differential Equations, Journal of Mathematical Biology, Linear Algebra and its Applications, Proceedings for the American Mathematical Society, SIAM Journal on Applied Mathematics等国际著名刊物发表论文40余篇。研究成果被国际同行广泛引用, 总引用3500余次。曾获学术、科研和教学奖励多项, 其中包括国家优秀自费留学生奖学金(中国), Killam纪念奖学金(加拿大), 中佛罗里达大学教学创新(TIP)奖等。此外, 他还主持多项科研项目, 其中包括美国国家科学基金委(NSF)Simons Foundation科研项目。
